With care and attention to detail, we don’t produce off of a factory line. And with the success I’ve had, in 2021 Ash started with me and the skills that make this job a fulfilling career are being passed on to keep traditional techniques and bespoke joinery alive.
Although we have many contracts that seem somewhat mundane after 20 years in the trade, there is also been some truly fine work, whether it’s grand entrance doors link to Bickenhall or a true one-off staircase link to oak stair, there always seems to be a contract which makes me think or scratch my head and it keeps the joy of this job alive.
Various projects since 2017 that have been particularly enjoyable, Bickenhall doors/Oak Staircase/Stable Door I’ve always enjoyed making various gifts for family and friends (although I wish I had more time!) an eye for design is something that comes with the job, I always seem to squirrel bits of timber away thinking “I can make something out of that”.
Essentially after 20 years in the trade and my own business since 2017, I still find I enjoy seeing a project come to life from lengths of timber to a one-off piece of joinery.
